In the earlier post I gave some categories of special education in which the disabled is among. We shall now dwell on the types of disability we have.  Types of Disability    We have differences types of disabilities which are;  1. Autism spectrum disorder  2. Deaf-blindness 3. Categories of special education

Special education encompasses a wider range of educational system,  it is divided into three categories; 1. The disabled 2. The disadvantage 3. The gifted and talented The disabled : this are the set of people who are having one deforming or the other,  people who have their part of the body damaged. This set of people  are having  impairment,  thereby limiting them from performing a particular task. Examples are the hearing impaired,  visual impaired,  physical and health impairment,  autistic, behavioral disorder,  mentally  retarded,  learning disabled etc. The disadvantage: These are categories of peoples who don't have access to the societal norms, that is that are denied due to their condition which may be financial,  psychological,  age, philosophical etc. Examples are the normadic, migrant fishermen,  aged,  prison inmate, juveniles , homeless people etc. The gifted and talented : This categori...

History of special education

INTRODUCTION   Special Education comes as a result of four unrelated event, sometimes antagonistic  factors or what one may term as human characteristics, this factors are; Superstition, Wickedness, Sympathy and Curiosity. Special education, unlike the regular educational programs tends to attend to the educational needs including  psychological ,cognitive ,emotional, social,  marital,  financial, medical and economical needs of children with special needs. It involves training these children to maximize the little potentiality in them to be effective  in every area of life. Special education offers wide range of enlightenment  and ways of helping the children with special needs to accumulate the abilities in disability.
